The Ultimate Train Concept
The exciting collaboration between Andrew Winch Designs, Bill Amberg and David Linley sees the joining of three leading British design companies. Combining their unrivalled experience, together they have created the ultimate in travel...the concept for a privately owned VVIP Train.
With an elegant, stylish and contemporary interior, the unique concept is complimented further by complete functionality of design. The result is an unrivalled form of transport, and when made a reality, will be unaffected by Volcanic Ash!
Conceived by Andrew Winch and David Linley whilst attempting to travel during the volcanic ash interuptions; we began designing a new General Arrangement based on the French TGV. By applying our unique knowledge of aircraft design, we have created a sophisticated plan which can be easily tailored to the Owner. Each TGV carriage has the equivalent aread of half the floor space of a Boeing 737 plane!
By using the 'Lego Brick Concept' additional carriages can be added, increasing the space and allowing areas to be designed for a specific purpose i.e. private cinema, Michelin starred kitchen, or even car garages for transportation of private collections! The ability to add and remove carriages depending on the journey requirements, allows for complete flexibility and discretion.
A 'Window to the World'...vast panoramic windows provide art created by nature, ever-changing in their scene. Light and bright the carriage's indoor/outdoor environment can be enhanced with an ' open roofed' conservatory carriage, whilst privacy is maintained using Photochromatic privacy glass in a ll window fixtures.
The Private Train offers the perfect environment for both leisure and business travel. By remaining on the ground, the state of the art technology and entertainment system offers continuous technological support to the user uninterrupted by either landings of take-off!
As well as the technical benefits, the option to stop at multiple locations at your convenience, allows colleagues to disembark at the end of meetings and be replaced with friends and family. This seamless exchange between work and leisure is an obvious luxury for those who travel extensively.

If Music be the food of love, play on...
With the music of the Jazz musicians and the enthusiasm of the dancers, the composition of the six bespoke hand carved panels, designed by Andrew Winch Designs, creates a unqiue backdrop to the dining room and main saloon of Motoryacht Phoenix². Inspired by the 1930's New York Art Deco movement they encompass the Client's passion for music, and his love of the elegance of this era.
The six individual panels were designed by the Andrew Winch Designs team in our studio, then hand carved and finished in London by highly skilled craftsmen. Taking a total of four months to carve, the rich depth and texture was achieved through the experienced craftsmen boldly sculpting as deelply as 40mm in parts! On completion, the carved artwork was treated with a specialist metallic spray finish; then meticulously hand polished to create a rich metallic lustre.
Once installed onboard, they sit so seamlessly together that one would never know that concealed behind each panel is storage for the formal dining, bespoke crockery, china and glassware.
Within each of our projects is a lifestyle akin to the client. Our role as the designer is to understand the dreams of our client's and the lidestyle they enjoy. We take this understanding of the client and combined with our passion for design, we create environments unrivalled in their exclusivity, attention to detail and quality of craftsmenship.
