The Launch of the 'Ultimate Vertical Take-Off Tender'
Andrew Winch Designs, launched “The Ultimate Vertical Take-Off Tender” at the Monaco Yacht Show, in conjunction with Eurocopter and Edmiston.
“We took up the challenge given to us by Eurocopter to come up with a dream helicopter concept especially for yachts. This follows our success in winning the competition set by Edmiston last year with our design for Super Yacht Sea Rover.
More and more of our clients are incorporating helicopters into their initial yacht design and it seems only right that they should travel to their yacht in the same style and comfort.”
Based on the Eurocopter EC155 B1 Dauphin, the Vertical Take-off Tender will set a new bench mark in helicopter styling. Sporting several external designs inspired by the contours of ocean waves, the helicopter features an interior of teak floorings, leather wrap-around adjustable seats fitted with carbon fibre back shells, fold-down central armrests, ‘floating’ LCD screens, headphones and an i-pod docking station.
We look forward to seeing the Ulitmate Vertical Take-off Tender sitting on the decks of the world’s finest yachts in the near future.

Andrew Winch Wins Award for Superyacht Al Mirqab
We are pleased to announce that Andrew Winch Designs won three major awards in the World Superyacht Awards for their 133 metre Superyacht Al Mirqab, including the ultimate prize of 'Best Interior of the Year', which judges all motor yachts in every class.
An independent panel of judges comprised of thirteen Superyacht owners and two highly respected industry professionals awarded Andrew Winch Designs 'Best In Class', 'Best Yacht of the Year' and 'Best Interior'.
We were responsible for creating the stunning interior of Al Mirqab which was inspired from the classic architecture and design of the Cote d'Azur and Paris. The 3,500m² of Owner's areas alone included the interior planning, design and decoration over a four year period.
A total of 29 lorry loads of loose decorations were coordinated and put on board, a feat which we had never done before, but one which we know we now can do again.
Andrew Winch said "We are delighted to have won this prestigious award, Al Mirqab is a beautiful yacht whose classic style will last for all time, I am sure she will become one of the iconic superyachts of the world."
Our colleagues during the design and build process were Tim Heywood who designed the beautiful exterior, Captain David Atkinson who project managed the yacht, the technical managers at Burgess Yachts and the shipyard where she was built, Kusch Yachts in northern Germany.
