Andrew Winch Designs set to return romance to air travel...

Heroes, glamour and romance are all things which one associates with flying in the 1950's. Images of the successful couple boarding a plane and waving goodbye to loved ones on the ground flood our mind...one can see the charm and feel the anticipation as they begin their adventure...

With the convenience of modern day travel, that escapism and excitement can sometimes be lost, however we have been approached to redesign the interior of one of the all time aviation masterpieces...the DC6. We are looking forward to developing a plane which will showcase a classic and luxurious interior, enriched by tradition.

Andrew Winch Designs are sensitively creating a design which is both sympathetic to her heritage whilst incorporating all of the latest technology and luxury available today. Perfect for large private parties travelling together, it would be a fabulous way to arrive in Le Mans in complete style..

Facilities onboard include a side opening entry to a spacious reception area, private bar and galley, cinema and dining and conference facilities. A dedicated crew area provides five star service to all areas of the aircraft, ensuring unrivalled comfort in the air.

The Beautiful Phoenix²

Andrew Winch Designs are delighted to be working with Luerssen shipyard on the interior and exterior design of the 85m motor yacht Phoenix², due for delivery in July 2010.

The original 60m motor yacht Phoenix was launched at Luerssen in 2004. Due to her success it led to her Owner developing a new project with the same team which includes Moran Yacht & Ship, Luerssen Shipyard and Andrew Winch Designs. The resulting yacht is the eagerly awaited motor yacht Phoenix².

Phoenix² is by no means a sequel to the original hull. She has been carefully designed and constructed to ensure that the essence of the original yacht has been kept; but as her new name appropriately suggests, she has been ‘squared’ in both her complexity and size making her a much bigger, better and far more beautiful yacht.

Her sumptuous interior will be a reflection of the New York Art Deco era of the early 1930’s, where both classic design and functionality are bound together to create an ornamental and beautiful work of art. Incorporating the most luxurious of materials, including High Gloss Ebony, Bleached Ripple Sycamore wood and High Gloss Macassar, her strong structure will be complemented by her elegantly refined polished nickel and stainless steel finishes.

The imaginative use of furnishings, fabrics and furniture will be incorporated into her unique General Arrangements which has been carefully designed to provide the Client with exactly the style and practicality of a yacht they require. A beautiful full-beam Deco Duplex apartment for the Owner’s Suite offers unrivalled and undisturbed views out to sea. A private staircase joins the two floors together whilst a private foredeck complete with Jacuzzi offers exterior privacy to the Client.
