A story of Classical Opulence, Trust and Quality
In 1994 Andrew Winch Designs, were approached to enter a design competition for a 30m Motoryacht. This we won by creating the signature of classical Cote d’Azur elegance. Overtime, the design finally developed into a 54m yacht, which amongst other things encompasses a smooth teak crafted transom, which hinges down into the water revealing a classical mahogany limousine tender!
Named Sarafsa, she was built at Amels Shipyard and when launched she graced the harbour of Monaco and the Cote d’Azur for many years. The pleasure she gave our Client led to his desire to create with Andrew Winch another much larger yacht. The first Sarafsa was sold, renamed and her hull repainted blue. Whilst the second yacht to be designed incorporated the signature burgundy hull and teak transom in a much larger, 82m motor yacht Sarafsa.
Constructed and launched at DML shipyard in Plymouth, the newest Sarafsa is the largest yacht to be made and launched in the UK. She carries two custom built Andrew Winch Designs Limousine tenders concealed in garages amid ships. Within her 15m beam and six deck General Arrangement a vast array of beautiful internal features and classical decorations are concealed.
We would like to wish the Owner many happy years onboard cruising to his favourite Mediterranean harbours.

The Palace of Versailles arrives in the Ukraine
Inspired by the classical splendour of the Palace of Versailles, Andrew Winch Designs delivered their latest Architectural project in September 2009.
The Ukraine property is a 10,000sqft private office, inspired by the Client’s love of the style and craftsmanship from the Louis XVI period. From the very beginning of the project Andrew Winch Designs worked to achieve the perfect synergy between the modern day technological requirements of a 21st Century office whilst remaining sensitive to the delicacy and detailing of the era.
The design and installation of the private office took a year and a half to complete and was achieved though a dedicated team of designers, craftsmen and engineers. To ensure the authenticity of the design, we worked with the most highly respected and experienced craftsmen in the world ensuring each individual handmade item of bespoke furniture as well as all fixtures and fittings were unique and of an unrivalled quality.
50,000 gold leaves alone were scrupulously hand applied, whilst the wall panels were embellished with 1,300 hand carved details on walnut and limed oak wood. Hidden amongst these traditional finishes are a cutting edge finger print controlled environment, communications and technology system.
