Andrew Winch Designs - Days Out!
In 2008, Edmiston challenged the world's leading superyacht designers to cutomise a Range Rover using the influence of cutting-edge super yacht design. At the 2008 Monaco Yacht Show, Andrew Winch Designs were delighted to be announced as the winners of the competition to the yachting press. Our prize was generously donated by Land Rover, and consisted of a day visiting the home of this iconic British brand in Solihull, Coventry.
Integral to the award winning Andrew Winch Design's Sea Rover concept, was the ability for passengers to see and sense the ever changing scenery, whilst in a comfortable and protected interior environment. This ethos is mirrored by Land Rover's ability to create vehicles with capabilities so advanced they can cross the most savage of terrains with ease.
In November 2010, eighteen members of the Andrew Winch Designs team arrived in Solihull to begin the Land Rover experience! Following a fascinating private tour of the production process, the team discovered how Land Rover's world leading all-terrain technology is assembled and packaged into the final vehicle. Not only did we get to see this technology, we got to experience it too! Getting behind the wheel we put a selection of Land Rover vehicles through the ultimate test track, experiencing a 45 degree downhill slope, as well as swing bridges, driving through metre deep water and much, much more!
We would like to thank Edmiston for inviting Andrew Winch Designs to participate in the competition; and to all the team at Land Rover for their kind hospitality that provided us with a unique insight into the world of Land Rover!
